A Piece Of Mansell’s Tailors Family History Restored By Andy Doig

Mark Mansell remembers his grandfather, “William John Davis Mansell, was born in 1900.

“He was brought up by nuns in a convent and learnt the skill of tailoring. In the 1920s set up his shop at 135 Lichfield Road in Stafford Staffs. He quickly became a successful businessman.

“The neon sign was made for him in the late fifties and was at the shop until the early seventies. Since then it has resided in my father’s shed. I came across it last year and decided to have it restored and brought back to life by Andy Doig at the neon studios in Brighton.”
